website & lookbook
ADORN is a fine jewellery brand, focussing on fine materials and the nature of the craft. Every piece is handmade in collaboration with artists is Indonesia, and use precious metals combined with semi-precious stones, cotton and bone.
For ADORN we developed an online lookbook (adorn.nl) and its accompanying shopify online-shop, working from an initial idea set up by ADORN with Finnán Barry. At the base of the design is a beautiful collection of photographs made by Sophie Wright, alternating between ‘clean’ product-photographs and showing how these jewels are being worn. The focus on geometric elements and natural forms of the collection is boosted even further by this.
Eye for detail
For both the beautiful jewellery as in the minimalistic design for the website it’s the details that make a difference. This is why we decided the typography deserved some extra attention as well. The font we use has geometric details while at the same time reflecting the elegant and minimalistic character of ADORN. The font color is dark brown instead of black, which creates a slightly softer character. Plus: custom icons and a logo optimised for multiple sizes are additional details that strengthen this elegance and the geometry.
User-friendliness is paramount
We believe that not only for the visitor of the website, but also for the team of ADORN, usage of the site should be intuitive. Easily uploading new collections, jewellery or changing the way they’re displayed should be a breeze.
That’s why we made a custom Content Management System (CMS) and wrote a script for the website that generates the organic & geometric design – making sure it always looks beautiful and is easy to maintain. Additionally, the webshop was customised to fit with the look and feel of the lookbook, while using a shopify-theme as a basis.
