identity

The Eugène Dubois Foundation was established to bring greater renown to the Dutch scientist Eugène Dubois. Dubois became world famous in the late 19th century with his discovery of fossils from a human ancestor. His discovery has had an enormous effect on the popular perception of human evolution and the relationship between humans and animals.

They organise activities to communicate science to a wide audience, young and old, in an accessible way.

The Eugène Dubois Foundation invited us to design an identity which triggers the audiences’ imagination, to invite the audience to be curious and seek out underlying layers, to research, and hint at revelations - visually emphasised by lifting a piece of paper, the top layer. At the same time we wanted this identity to be dynamic and have a modern feel to it in order to attract a wide audience.
