Having co-created two successful projects before (CLOU Architects & Baitasi Beijing Design Week), LAVA Beijing asked us to aid in the creation & development of their new portfolio website as well.

A visual concept was already in place, but our challenge was to add to this a layer of interaction & playfulness, which is something LAVA Beijing not only has in their work, but clearly wanted to showcase on their own website as well.

An interaction design was made, consisting of a couple of important pointers for this website. Usability for both the team & visitors, the site being bilingual, loading-time ‘planet-wide’, and of course a fun-factor!

The CMS itself was also custom-built by us, to allow LAVA Beijing to play around with the way the content was displayed on the website. And translating this into a responsive grid was of course part of this.

The result: a ‘simple’ and concise website including everything the team needed, but also a typical ‘Dutch Design’ showcase for an international creative agency.
