Publication Studio is a worldwide network of 11 studios which produce and distribute books one-at-a-time, creating an on-demand publishing platform for artists & writers. 

For their new website, Publication Studio asked us to help in taking it from a static website to a lively platform which combines social feeds, an online shop and a map showcasing and explaining what exactly makes them so unique.

The initial focus was of course the final product; the books. A complete overview (aptly named ‘bookshelves’) of over 300 books (to date) with filter & ordering options, and to each book its own page with previews, an introduction and integration with FoxyCart for the actual ordering/buying of books.

A nod to the ‘old’ date-stamps, which Publication Studio uses for the design-basics of publications if none are provided, is integrated into the website’s header, where you can see all the studio locations. These studios play a key role in the concept though. No need for overseas shipping, as you can ‘go’ to your nearest shop, and order from there. Google Maps has further been integrated into the Studio’s page, allowing you to see the most recent releases, events and more information for each studio individually. 

The Activity page brings together all the social feeds – studio’s post to their own feed, but same as all the books come together here, everything is merged on this page. Giving visitors a quick look into the daily life and occasions of the Studio

All this combined results into the online publishing platform that is the new website of Publication Studio. We are happy to have helped integrate, collect and showcase this worldwide network into one ‘digital library’.
